after a spray...

why the fuc would you do all that work then put stickers from another brand of bike on the frame. i just don't get some people at all. you could have at least created something from the decal name by cutting it up... re-arranging etc.
here you go Maciek - here is a couple of suggestions
cog - loca - glanco - calo - nag - goal ... or... cool?
idiot.

lachies new bike

again. another bike purchase from ebay. i am getting slightly obsessed with ebay and bikes atm, you only need to ask my wife, but...
lachlans original 12" bike was purchased from ebay. it has down him well up until now. he has been able to ride his bike without training wheels since he was 2yrs old so the bike has had about 2.5 years of riding with about 2 rides per week. the pedals are shot, the back tire keeps on going flat and there really isn't much point in fixing it as he is getting taller so quickly he does need to move up to a 16" bike.
so here he is

i need lachlan to name him once we pick it up. funny thing is it is the same colour as his last ebay bike. can't wait to see him ride it. his speed will increase with the larger frame/wheel size - that will be funny to see!
i still need to buy adian a 16" bike.

fixed.org.au and what a community should be

this morning, like all mornings, i logged onto my new found forum fixed. it is a great resource for fixie/track stuff in australia. the thing i am liking the most about it is the people on it actually seem like a nice bunch of guys. i have been on a fair few forums before and the guys there are just dickwads. but not here.

this is a perfect example of why....
or this for instance

maybe i should move on from being a silent lurker, to an active participant... i just fell to much like a noob for now

Hugo's a day away

well it is only one more day at work, then holidays. on saturday lachlan and i will be doing the drive to bundeena to pick up hugo. aidan has a party to go to... but i just know lachlan will be the dood who will always be tinkering with bikes, you can see it in his eyes already. i have had much thought about hugo - i know what i want from him - what he should look like etc. i imagine he will be almost identical to this

my issues will be the rims. deep v's machined or not - or possibly hillbricks, and cranks. now there is a big problem. i am unsure what the BB will be. it could be a french thread, but i do need to sort out cranks asap as well as wheels. i think the xbox will go. i am kinda not interested in it atm. i need to think a little more about it all. money is always the issue.

fixie project now complete - lol

well to day dawns the era of fixie heaven. i have now brought the second bike to complete the puzzle. thing is, i needed a second bike to work on whilst i continue riding the first bike to the station. so here he is. hugo the peugeot.

welcome hugo to the family

one of the main reasons i wanted a peugeot was that you can still purchase the decal sets on ebay. at this point i am really not expecting to go that far down the restoration path. i am more interested in this style of fixie. the more "research" i have done the more i realised i really am taken by the natural old-skool road/touring frames. i guess if i wanted a track frame... i would velo.

the first thing will be to pick hugo up, introduce him to fb, then start the long process of stripping him back. bottom bracket cleaning, frame cleaning etc. can't wait!

fb at home

well the fixie project is at home. it is making it to the station on the small front cog and all clusters. front derailer is shot but thats fine. here's the beast at home

i have ridden it twice to the station this week and it was great going but coming has been quiet scary. its late and dark so i purchased two new lights off torpedo on monday. a front and back as well as the full tilt tool set to take it down and do the work. then as always they had a sale today - wednesday and had the dual halogen set for only $77. after much debate i decided it was worth it. safety first. so i now will have 4 front lights and two back lights.

Fb -part 1

well the deal is done. i have brought the ugliest bike i could find on ebay for the cheapest price possible. it has a new saddle and new tires [so they say]
heres the ad description and image

RACING BIKE
Road bike older style recently serviced with new tyres, tubes and saddle ($30) would suit someone who just wants to get to the station or is not so fussed about the look of the bike you ride. This bike rides well and shimano gears work with no problems.
bike can be picked up in the Penrith area or Granville.

its awesome. after downloading the image from ebay and realising the image name is fbf7_1.JPG i have aptly named him Fb. my usual branding will always entail a capital "F" then a lower case "b".
look at that paint job, no man will every steal this from the station [nor woman]. first thing will be to strip the spokes of the coloured paint using steel wool. then onto the upgrade planning. i am thinking BB first with new cranks etc... then back hub and rim. followed by front hub then rim... etc.

stay tuned

Samsung

today i attended a metting about a new tv that samsung are going to release shortly. it was such a bizare meeting. the client seemed as though they knew what the "idea" was but they had no way of communicating it correctly.
the above the line agency out of korea had created a TVC the featured a wedding. in the grand scheme of purchases i would highly debate that the women within the family structure would be the TECH person, although i would definately admit they would/could [notice order] be the final decision maker with regard to "cost"

fixie ebay sadness

im not happy. i have bidded on about 4 bikes so far and no joy. evey bike is going for what i would imagine to be a price that isn't really worthy of the result.
i will keep looking but tomorrow i am going to do the blaxland 2nd bike seller job run. hoping in an of change he may have a track bike witch is in working order.

after repeated atempts
via mobile e-bay and cpu ebay i was unable to purchase a second hand road bike that i felt was worthy of converting. i had a buget and all candidates when over what i felt reasonable. i will keep trying.

fixies

i am just going to continue posting my favourite fixies here.

current favourite:

i think JADE owns this piece of art

bizarre name:

fixie time

i have found a new passion. i need to ride to the station so i am going to build a fixie bike. i am estimating it will take a year to do but i know will be an awesome little project. with my passion for bikes i need a cheapy to do the station run everyday. i know it will start out as a cheapy but in the end it won't be a cheap bike. this is the best example i can find of what i would love to build

it needs to be something simple and plain but i am going to see how it all comes together. lots of time on ebay looking for a candidate atm. although i may do a run to the bike seller guy at blaxland. i need it to be something that is functional now but i can buy the past and fix up over time.
